"I'm a synthpop musician who also sings vocals and
I realized that my neighbor had been hearing me sing while recording
songs. I was embarrassed by this, especially considering all the different
takes I was doing and that I was singing with headphones on....meaning
my neighbor got heartfelt acappella performances through the thin walls.
This got me thinking about a solution, and after a quick net search I found
WhisperRoom. I was impressed by the site since the content was more than
enough to sell me on the unit, with great pictures and information
(including prices). I also liked the fact that the units are modular
and expandable. I bought a model 4242S for a vocal booth and I even
assembled it myself (I strongly recommend getting a friend to help!).
I have to say, the build quality is fantastic, the design is excellent
and I even like the fact that the acoustic foam can be tacked on with
Velcro which makes it easily re-positioned. I also like that the
vent fan works by remote when you need the most absolutely quiet environment.
I asked my brother to go inside the room and sing his heart out and I have
to say, I could barely hear my brother screaming when I was outside the room
where the vocal booth is. It's great to know I don't have to wait for
roommates or neighbors to leave before I can sing in peace, or make special
plans...now I can lay down vocals whenever I feel like it and my confidence
is greater knowing people aren't ready to pound on my wall in protest!:)
It's one of my best studio investments yet. I will be sure to thank you on
my forthcoming CD!:) "
