How Grand Canyon University Built a Student Recording Lab in One Summer

GCU's Recording Studio wanted rooms where students could record music and podcasts and practice on their own projects. With WhisperRoom's help on the design, the equipment list and the shipping, their team built the lab in the summer of 2021 and opened it for the fall semester.

The brief

The Recording Studio at Grand Canyon University wanted rooms students could use for their own projects: music, podcasts and practice, each in its own room with the gear already set up.

Getting there took real planning. WhisperRoom worked with them on the design, the equipment list and the shipping logistics.

They asked for a mix of sizes: small rooms for solo work, mid-size rooms for duets and quartets, a large room for a drum kit or a podcast table, and one room built for wheelchair access.

"Thank you to WhisperRoom, Inc. for helping with the design and equipment list and shipping logistics, you guys are AWESOME!"
