Accurate hearing testing starts with controlling the ambient noise around the patient.
A hearing test booth, also called an audiometric booth or audiology booth, reduces outside noise so quiet test tones can be heard without interference from the surrounding room. The amount of isolation needed depends on the test, equipment and noise level of the facility.

What the Standard Sets
ANSI/ASA S3.1 establishes maximum permissible ambient noise levels for audiometric test rooms. Those limits vary by test setup and frequency, so compliance is determined by measuring ambient noise in the completed testing environment.

Yes, the MDL 7272 S meets ADA requirements when paired with the ADA package, which includes a 32-inch wide door, modular ramp, elevated floor, and 5 feet of interior space for wheelchair maneuverability.
Do I need a double-wall model?
The Standard (single-wall) model works for most audiologists in quiet office settings. The double-wall model is better for noisier environments or higher isolation needs.
Why are the silencers necessary?
Although the booth is quiet, the fan and ventilation system can create noise. Silencers reduce this, for a quieter, more accurate testing environment.
Does the booth meet ANSI standards?
ANSI/ASA S3.1 compliance is determined by measuring ambient noise in the finished testing room, so an on-site test is required. WhisperRoom does not certify rooms for ANSI compliance, but audiologists and medical centers use our booths for audiometric testing every day.
